NO POLICE AT CZECH FOOTBALL STADIUMS?
According to a report in Saturday?s edition of Pravo, the Czech Interior Ministry no longer wants the police to handle security at football matches.
Under a new proposal seen by the newspaper, the responsibility for stadium security would be entirely handed over to stewards, and the police are reportedly in negotiations with the CMFS (Czech football association) on how the new system would work.
Police spokesman Roman Skrepek told Pravo that policing football stadiums is expensive and occupies hundreds of officers who could be better employed elsewhere.
